Burns loses Heart

Comic out of his drivetime slot

Stand-up Greg Burns has been dropped from Heart FM’s drivetime show in London.

The comic has been with the station for seven years, the last four of them in the high-profile 4pm to 7pm show.

Four months ago, former Radio One DJ Emma B joined him as co-host – and now she takes over as sole presenter.

Burns was due to return from a scheduled holiday earlier this month, but has not been back on air since.

His agent Hannah Oldman said: ‘Heart are currently restructuring their schedules and Greg was offered a different show with the station which he has turned down.’

‘He is currently considering an offer from a high-profile radio station’.

The changes at Heart come during a fierce ratings war with rivals Capital. Heart has a narrow edge on Capital in the ratings. However Capital reaches 40,000 more listeners than Heart, even if they tune in for less time.
