Mock on!

Topical panel game to return to BBC2

BBC Two has commissioned a second series of topical comedy panel game Mock The Week.

Host Dara O'Briain and regulars Rory Bremner, Hugh Dennis and Frankie Boyle will all feature when the show returns in January.

They are joined by guest comics, ranging from big names such as Jo Brand and Al Murray to lesser-known stand-ups from the circuit, such as John Oliver and Andy Parsons, for semi-improvised games loosely based on the week's news.

O’Briain said: ‘I'm delighted to get my feet under the desk again.  We had an enjoyable summer run, but we'd like to be on air during the cold winter months when audiences enjoy a bit of political blood-sports to keep them warm.’

‘The show is always a pleasure to do because it's a mix of playing with some of the quickest comedy minds in the business and, sometimes, just sitting back and watching them be funny. Not a bad gig, really.’

Producer Dan Patterson – who also co-created Whose Line Is It Anyway? – said: ‘Mock The Week was immensely popular with its viewers because it is far more active than traditional panel shows’
