Edinburgh heads south

Best of the fest goes to London

Some of the hottest comedy shows from the Edinburgh festival are to run in the West End.

Adam Hills, Jimmy Carr, Daniel Kitson and Perrier-winner Demetri Martin (pictured) are among those who will be performing in next month's comedy season at the Soho Theatre.

Perrier best newcomer nominee Alex Horne is also in the line-up, as are Jason Woods, Miranda Hart, Nina Conti and Mickey Flanagan.

The Soho has a growing reputation for bringing the best Edinburgh shows to London, and also hosted several work-in-progress previews ahead of the festival.

All the Perrier nominees, and best newcomer Gary Le Strange, will also be performing in a run of Sunday-night shows in the West End next month, organised as part of the award.

Hills, Martin, Flight of the Conchords, Reginald D. Hunter and Howard Read will all take part in the season, running on October 5, 12 and 19, although exact details have yet to be announced.

The Bloomsbury Theatre is also hosting a Best Of The Fest season from September 23 to 27 with Dara O'Briain, Boothby Graffoe, Lucy Porter and Inder Manocha.
