Big Brother... for addicts

Jim Davidson's bizarre TV project

Jim Davidson is planning to use alcoholics and drug addicts in a new TV game show.

The controversial comic is working on a Big Brother-style show where people with problems will compete "to get their old life back".

Davidson, himself a former alcoholic, said the programme would be called titled The Last House On The Block.

He told the Radio Times: "You have alcoholics, drug addicts, anorexics - people with the same illness but different symptoms - shut in a house for eight weeks and their prize is getting back their lives at the end of the series.

"It isn't a freak show, but it won't be light entertainment either. There are thousands of potential contestants."

Davidson, who recently lost his prime-time TV slots hosting the Generation Game and Big Break, has now been reduced to hosting Commercial Breakdown when it returns in October.

He's also planning a live tour later this year, called Vote For Jim, and an earlier stand-up show will be broadcast on BBC1 next Friday night (September 5)
