A small fortune

Corbett sells his home for £1.35m

Ronnie Corbett has put his Croydon home on the market for £1.35 million.

The comic has lived in the five-bedroom house overlooking a golf course for 36 years, but is now moving to a new place nearby with wife Anne.

The house, built in 1927, includes an oak-panelled drawing room along with a minstrels' gallery, and an acre and a half of land, including swimming pool.

"We've had some marvellous Christmas parties here," 72-year-old Ronnie told his local paper "With a roaring fire in the grate and people like Bruce Forsyth taking turns on the grand piano

"But now the children have gone we are downsizing to a bungalow nearby. It's only a matter of moving from the sixth to the second tee so it won't be a great wrench."
