Jack lands role in gangster flick

Jack Dee is to star in a new British film about the London underworld.

The comic is to play a dodgy scrap metal dealer in Spivs, opposite Nick Moran from Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels.

Moran plays an East End conman - coincidentally also called Jack - in the £1.2million comedy directed by Colin Teague, helming his second film after 2000's Shooters.

Producer Hamish Skeggs said: "I found the script to be extremely funny with great storylines, the narrative is witty and clever."

Produced by Carnaby Films, based in the newly rebuilt Ealing Studios, Spivs is due for release early next year.
