French and... no one

Dawn stars in solo West End play

Dawn French is to return to the West End stage next year in a one-woman play.

The comedienne will star in Geraldine Aron's  My Brilliant Divorce at The Apollo from February 24.

It's not French's first straight stage acting role; last year she appeared as Bottom in a Midsummer Night's Dream,

My Brilliant Divorce, which premiered in Galway in 2001, tells of a woman, abandoned by her husband coming to terms with her new single life.

Meanwhile, Alan Davies is also making his West End debut next month when Auntie and Me, the darkly comic play that won plaudits at this year's Edinburgh festival, opens at the Wyndhams.

Performances start on January 10, with first night on January 14. Click here for tickets.
