Joly to front US version of his show

Dom Joly is to make a new batch of Trigger Happy TV shows for an American audience.

Cable channel Comedy Central has ordered six new episodes of the hidden camera show, after the British version proved a ratings hit.

The station - home of South Park - screened the original Channel 4 series this autumn to critical acclaim.

But only 14 episodes were made, and the station wants more - and with stunts set in the US.

The new episodes, which will still star Joly, have been scheduled to air in April, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Trigger Happy TV is the latest in a long line of British comedies exported to the US in recent months - including The Kumars At Number 42 and Coupling, which network bosses are hoping will be the next Friends.
