Reid cleared

No charges over 'racism' claim

Mike Reid will not be charged over an allegation he told racist jokes.

Only one woman - a politics graduate - complained to police that he cracked anti-Muslim gags he reportedly cracked on stage in Chatham, Kent.

Officers investigated her claims that the ex-EastEnders star broke new religious hatred laws drafted after September 11.

But they have decided to take no further action.

At the time, Reid, 62, said the claims were 'ridiculous'.

His agent Tony Lewis told The Mail on Sunday: "I have never heard anything so petty. Those jokes are funny - I've never heard him make a racist one."
