Christmas special for BBC2

Steve Coogan is to star alongside Rob Brydon in a spoof Star Trek show.

They will play actors in a cult sci-fi show who wind up on a cruise with a group of fans.

Celebrity Cruise will be broadcast on BBC2 this Christmas and made by Coogan's production company Baby Cow.

At the Edinburgh International Television Festival, channel controller Jane Root said:

"The show ended years ago, but they are persuaded to go on a cruise by their fans."

Also at the festival, BBC1 boss Lorraine Heggessey said that Graham Norton was top of the list of stars she would like to poach for the channel.
