Blue plaque for comic genius

A blue plaque is to be unveiled in honour of the stars of Hancock's Half Hour.

Hattie Jacques, Sid James and Hancock himself will be remembered on the Comic Hertitage plaque, to be unveiled att the BBC Radio Theatre in Broadcasting House.

It will be unveiled by Hancock's writers, Ray Galton and Alan
Simpson, Sid's widow Val and Joan Le Mesurier, who had an affair with Hancock.

There will also be a celebrity-studded fundraising lunch after the September 8 ceremony, in honour of Hancock.
