Deaf comic gets a hearing

C4 to profile Steve Day

Comic Steve Day is to be the subject of a short Channel 4 film later this month.

A series of five-minute profiles, called Natural Born talent, will focus on artists with disabilities.

Day's film concentrates on how his deafness has provided material for his stand-up and how it gives him the advantage of not being able to hear hecklers.

The film, which Day says 'cost a fortune to make', will be shown at midnight on July 17.

Others highlighted in the series include singer Alice Martineau, who has cystic fibrosis, and legless dancer David O'Toole.
