Clive still baffled by BBC axe

Clive Anderson says he's baffled about why the BBC dropped his chat show.

Producers had rejigged his show into to a newsier programme before it was dropped from the schedule18 months ago.

Anderson said: "If there were criticisms, I wasn't given any.

"That's the BBC way of doing things. Polite, but it doesn't leave you with a very good understanding.

"Perhaps there were just younger, fresher people around. Somebody had to go - and it was me."

Anderson was speaking to the Telegraph to promote his new job as host of Mastermind on the Discovery Channel.
