Animated on-line comedy club

The Pope and Madonna become stand-up comedians in a new virtual comedy club.

They are just two of the animated performers who crack a string of old pub gags at the website dotcomedyclub.tv.

Others include Tommy Cooper and Bernard Manning lookalikes. Ann Widdecome even makes an appearance - as a stripper.

Visitors to the site can submit their own jokes, or choose from a selection of subjects untouched by alternative comedy - including Mother In Law, Blonde or Sexist Git.

The Flash-powered site was set up by new media company Parker Interactive

A spokesman said: "What started out as a bit of fun and an experimental foray into interactive TV has resulted in this unique online showcase of our work."
