Bishop takes City Life title

Liverpudlian John Bishop has won the City Life comedian of the year award.

He beat other seven other new comics in last night's final at the Comedy Store, Manchester.

The other finalists were Dominic Woodwood, Nige, Electric Forecast, Des Sharples, Ross Wagman, Mike Wilkinson, and Lee Grands.

The winner receives a small cash prize - but much more kudos. Last year's winner, Justin Moorhouse, secured a management deal on the back of the title.
