Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook reunite in Worzel Gummidge
It’s not the first time Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook have been filmed in a field,
And next weekend the Detectorists duo are reunited in a new story in the rebooted Worzel Gummidge series – this one based around Guy Fawkes night.
While the titular scarecrow is renowned for his ability to change heads, in this episode Jones – who was last year nominated for an Olivier award for playing Chekov’s Uncle Vanya in the West End – plays the entire Scatterbrook Bonfire Night committee.

Crook wrote and directed the series, which is returning to BBC One for the first of three new episodes at 5.45pm next Saturday.
The cast also includes comedy favourites Rosie Cavaliero, Steve Pemberton and Vicki Pepperdine plus youngsters India Brown and Thierry Wickens.
