Susan Riddell WILL appear at Fringe despite terror charges

But city ban means gig will be via Zoom

Susan Riddell is to appear at the Edinburgh Fringe – despite being banned from this city after being charged with a terrorism-related offence.

The comedian will beam her show How Do You Sleep At Night into the Monkey Barrel via Zoom from her Glasgow home on Friday.

She was one of three women arrested  last month after a van was driven into the fence of a defence factory in Edinburgh during pro-Palestinian protests.

The 42-year-old stands accused of malicious mischief and dangerous driving ‘aggravated by reason of having a terrorist connection’.

Her bail conditions prohibit her from travelling to the capital, so she had to cancel her planned Fringe run at The  Tron nightclin

Announcing the show, Riddell said: "Hi I'm Susan Riddell. I was charged with terrorism (among other things) after an ALLEGED incident at a weapons factory.

‘Before all that malarkey I'd planned to do a show at the Edinburgh Fringe called How Do You Sleep at Night? But alas, I am barred from Edinburgh and under partial house arrest until my trial, so I am now forced to do a Zoom gig, which I'm sure we'll all agree is the worst punishment of all. Come along!’

Proceeds of Friday’s gig at Monkey Barrel 4 – at 10.40pm –  will go towards projects in Gaza. Tickets are available here.
