Peter Kay wraps up his tour after four years

Nine final charity gigs announced

Peter Kay has announced a run of nine charity shows to wrap up his Better Late Than Never tour after four years.

The comic said: ‘It’s been an incredible four-year tour. I’ve absolutely loved it. If doing a few more shows can help raise money for these overlooked and sadly underfunded charities, then that’s the least I can do.’

Profits from the dates in Brighton, Cardiff, Hull and Blackpool this autumn will go to three charities: the Lily Foundation, which funds research into mitochondrial disease; Maggie’s, which runs cancer care centres; and the Be More Laura Foundation, which supports research into brain cancer.

He will be at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on September 6, Hull’s Connexin Live on October 10, Brighton Centre on November 13 and 14,  and Blackpool Opera House on November 21.

The show – which had its first performance in Manchester on December 2, 2022, and included a record-breaking 45 dates at The O2 in London – marked Kay’s return to stand-up after a 12-year break. He cancelled a planned 2017 tour just days after announcing it, citing family reasons.

All dates except November 13 feature both a matinee and evening performance. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday.
