Paul Black
Date of birth: 04-11-1996Paul Black first became known for his short-form character-based comedy sketches, which he began on Twitter in 2017. They have gone on to accumulate over half a billion views across social media platforms.
In 2019, BBC Scotland commissioned a sketch-show pilot titled Pity Party, which Black wrote and directed. BBC Scotland commissioned another comedy special in 2022 called First Footing.
He was nominated for the Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow award at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival in both 2023 and 2025 – and also in 2025 he wrote and directed the Elaine C. Smith-starring BBC comedy short Govan Fair Queen.
