Lucy Beaumont

Born and raised in Hull, where she studied drama and went into acting with Hull Truck Theatre, Beaumont got int comedian the early 2010s. Winning the BBC Radio New Comedy Awards in 2012 and the Chortle Award for Best Newcomer in 2013. Her 2014 Edinburgh Fringe debut We Can Twerk It Out was also nominated for best newcomer. Her material draws heavily on observational comedy about Hull and Northern England. She co-wrote and starred in the radio sitcom To Hull and Back with Maureen Lipman, and wrote the documentary-style sitcom Meet the Richardsons for Dave, in which she starred alongside her then-husband, Jon Richardson. They married in 2015 and announced their divorce in 2024.
