New tour announced

Comedian Lizzie Roper has joined the Grumpy Old Women team as they announce a new tour.

She will join the show’s originator Jenny Eclair, and original cast member Dillie Keane, from Fascinating Aida, on a 60-date tour in spring and summer next year.

Roper played Sam Lomax is Hollyoaks for more than a year and has recently been seen in BBC Two sitcom Boy Meets Girl and last year’s revival of Till Death Do Us Part, where she played Elsie Garnett.

Eclair and co-writer  Judith Holder first took Grumpy Old Women on tour in 2004 following the success of the TV show of the same name.

It ran until 2008, including a four-week West End run at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, and was released as a DVD. There have been two other  tours before this one,  Chin Up Britain which ran from 2008 to 2014 and Fifty Shades of Beige from 2014 to 2016.

Other previous cast members include Susie Blake, Kate Robbins, Linda Robson, Britt Ekland and Rhona Cameron.

Tickets for the new shows, entitled Grumpy Old Women To The Rescue, are on sale now here.
