FILMING is to begin on the first series of the rebooted Porridge in Salford next month. Kevin Bishop returns as Fletch in the six new episodes, written by the show’s original creators, Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, following the success of a BBC One pilot last year. ADAM BUXTON is to mock long-forgotten commercials in a one-off gig as part of the Festival of British Advertising in London next month. Adam And The Ads will roughly follow the audiovisual format of his Bug shows as he seeks out the ‘funniest, weirdest, most politically incorrect and most innovative ads of all time’. The show is at the Curzon Soho on March 10. Tickets.

GAME OF THRONES star Maisie Williams has been cast in Aardman Studios’ forthcoming prehistoric animated comedy, Early Man, joining Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston. Williams will play Goona, the gallant rebel who befriends the film’s hero Dug (Redmayne), and helps steer him through the clash of the Stone Age and Bronze Age civilisations. Filming is currently under way in Bristol.

INTERNET stars Rose and Rosie have announced a six-night tour, Exposed, for the autumn. The real-life couple, who share their lives with more than 600,000 YouTube subscribers, promise an ‘intimate experience you’ll never forget...but wish you could.’ Tickets go on sale on Friday, and the schedule is here.

JOSH WIDDICOMBE has joined the line-up of Parkinson’s UK fundraiser Symfunny No. 2 at the Royal Albert Hall on April 19. He’ll be joining previously announced acts including Katie Melua, Jack Dee, and the rest of the I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue team
