TICKETS for a Ricky Gervais warm-up gig sold out instantly this morning. Fans who logged on to get seats for the December 4 show at the Theatre Royal Bath as soon as they went on sale at 10am were left disappointed. The comic tweeted: 'It's looking like tickets sold out immediately. How is that even possible? Thanks to everyone who tried to get tickets. Sorry it sold out so quickly. I promise I'll do loads more next year.'

JOHN BISHOP has won a Panda Award at the Wildscreen Film Festival of nature films for his documentary John Bishop's Gorilla Adventure. It scooped the popular broadcast category at the event in Bristol, with judges saying: 'The winner was a film in which the warmth and enthusiasm of the presenter was so genuine that it engages an audience far beyond those normally drawn to wildlife or conservation films.

GRAHAM NORTON's debut novel is to be adapted for TV. Former Eastender' producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has bought the rights to his rural murder-mystery Holding through his production company Blueprint Television. 'There's a level of quality that we thought we could turn into proper international television,' he told the Evening Standard.

NICK MOHAMMED is to bring his latest show, Mr. Swallow – Houdini, to the Soho Theatre for a mammoth six-week run in the new year. The show charts his hapless alter-ego's attempts to stage a musical tribute to the great escapologist and co-stars Kieran Hodgson and David Elms. FANTASY comedy Zapped got off to a good start in the ratings last night, attracting 348,000 viewers to Dave, notably up on the 294,000 the 9.40pm slot has averaged over the last 12 months. Read our review here.
