Scot Squad apprehends two Scottish Comedy Awards

...as does stand-up Keir McAllistair

Scot Squad and stand-up Keir McAllister have both scooped two Scottish Comedy Awards.

The partially improvised BBC Scotland sitcom was named best TV show with Chris Forbes scooping best actor for his portrayal of PC Charlie McIntosh.

Scot Squad beat Fern Brady’s BBC Pilot for Radges, the Wrestling documentary Insane Fight Club and STV’s Nightshift

Comedian Des Clarke, who was nominated for three different radio shows, picked up the award for topical panel show Breaking The News.

Keir McAllister, a regular panelist on that show, won two gongs – for best radio/TV comedian and best comedy writer.

The full list of winners, announced last night at Glasgow’s Blythswood Hotel, is:

Best Newcomer: Stuart McPherson

Best Compere: Gus Lymburn

Best TV/Radio Comedian: Keir McAllister

Best Headliner: Mark Nelson

Best Writer: Keir McAllister

Best Club under 100 capacity: Beehive, Edinburgh

Best Club over 100 capacity: The Stand, Glasgow

Best Sketch / Improv / Variety: Jellybean Martinez

Best Online Comedy: M.U.F.F. (Review)

Best Actor/Actress: Chris Forbes

Best TV Show: Scot Squad (BBC Scotland),

Best Radio Show: Breaking The News (BBC Radio Scotland)

Best Event: Chunks (Review)

Best solo tour/festival show: Richard Gadd (Review)
