JLC: Funnier than the best stand-ups

Say readers of Loaded magazine

Justin Lee Collins has been named Britain's funniest man by Loaded readers, ahead of stand-ups Dara O'Briain, Harry Hill, Russell Howard and Michael McIntyre.

Justin Lee Collins is the only person to have won the funniest man Lafta for a second time, having first won it in 2007. He said: 'I am chuffed to bits to be picking up this award for the second time - I guess this confirms that the readers of Loaded really do think I'm the funniest man. I'm happy with that!"

Katy Brand collected the Funniest Woman award beating Jo Brand and Sarah Silverman - the only non-Brit comedian to be nominated.

Michael McIntyre nabbed the Best Stand Up award beating four times winner Jimmy Carr while Jonathan Ross scooped the award for Funniest TV Personality.

Funniest double act went to Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer after making a return with Shooting Stars beating off nominees that managed to include X-Factor duo Jedward.

Funniest Panel Show went to 8 Out of 10 Cats while The Inbetweeners won the award for Funniest Show on TV.

The Laftas are the only comedy award to give a prize to Alex Reidm the cross-dressing cage fighter famous only for a brief affair with Jordan. Though his contribution to comedy may be minimal, he was named Joker Of The Year.

Loaded Editor Martin Daubney said: "This year's awards see many of the comedy giants collecting gongs, but no two awards go to the same person. That proves how incredibly diverse British comedy has become, across live stand up, television, radio and film we're delighted to be celebrating the cream of the crop at this year's Loaded LAFTAS!"
