Musical stand-up Richard Morton has been a stand-up for more than 20 years. In 1990, he was a founder member of the Comedy Store’s topical Cutting Edge show, with producer John Connor once saying: ‘He was the key to why the show was successful’. In 1997, he was given his special edition of Channel 5’s stand-up show The Comedy Store, and made his Edinburgh Fringe debut the following year. He has also been a frequent support act on UK tours, warming up for the likes of Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Jo Brand, Lily Savage and Phill Jupitus. As a musician, he released The Theme That Never Was is 2009 – an acclaimed album of fictional theme tunes to non-existent Sixities and Seventies TV shows. |

Saw richard tonight in portsmouth - show was great 10/10. paul, September 2010 |

Having seen Richard Morton tonight at the 'Highlight' club in Reading, I found myself very disappointed despite having no expectations whatsoever. As he came on and spent an awkward amount of time fiddling around with his guitar, I assumed that the set was going to be mainly musical comedy, but actually it was chiefly just made up of bad gags and silly faces, and when he finally did get to the songs (after doing the same 'I can only play Country and Western' joke about twelve times) they were all about 4 lines long and the humour in them hinged on a bad gag and a silly face. Every punchline was predictable, as well as awful, and all a bit outdated and blue; the climax of the set was a joke about how Tom Jones probably uses viagra. Still, the rest of the audience seemed to be lapping it up so there we go. Sam, June 2010 |

He was brilliant at The Riverfront, Newport last night. Brought great energy to the stage with a clever and tightly packed set. Great. Matthew, April 2010 |

I saw Richard at the Comedy Store and thought he was terrific. Can't remember when I last laughed as much! maggs, May 2007 |

Will this guy ever come up with new material? It's getting dull now. Rich Dudley, March 2007 |
|
Saw this guy at Jongleurs in Edinburgh on Saturday, and would say your comments were a wee bit harsh. He was the best act of the night, and the group I was with are still singing his song about why men say the wrong things. Doug Haggart, October 2006 |

Richard Morton is a truely amazing comic and never lets his performance down, keeping me laughing everytime I see him. Truly underrated and should be given more press Sarah Ives, June 2006 |
|
Absolutely hilarious, he never fails to leave me in stitches. Full of energy combined with Geordie wit, what more can anyone ask for? 11/10 Paul, December 2005 |
