On Saturday Night Live

Benedict Cumberbatch starred in a sketch about plans to outlaw abortion in much of America on Saturday Night Live.

The Doctor Strange star was guest hosting the US comedy institution last night, and kicked the show off with the ‘cold open' sketch about the Supreme Court’s leaked draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade,  the ruling which enshrines women’s rights to abortion,

Cumberbatch was joined by Andrew Dismukes and James Austin Johnson in the flashback sketch, set in 13th Century England when the procedure was outlawed – and to which certain quarters of America would like to return.
