Watch What Jaymie Wilson Does To This Guinea Pig

Review by Steve Bennett

What does Jaymie Wilson do to this guinea pig? The answer is: not much. He pretends he’s going to involve them in dangerous stunts, but doesn’t, on the advice of his animal welfare monitor. Then he dressed them up in silly costumes and acts out a childish story, with the reluctant audience squirming as they are roped in to help awkwardly.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is pretty much your show. A shade over 30 minutes, including about seven minutes of nervously deadpan stand-up from a support act, and a chance to hold the pets.

Wilson seems like a nice enough guy – and the sight of one of his guinea pigs mocked up to look like he’s doing stand-up himself is a delight (although he should have been given a rodent-sized mic). But it’s hard to see that more than a few minutes’ thought has gone into this inconsequential… well ‘show’ seems like too ambitious a word; you’d get a similar experience at a petting zoo.
