Electric Forecast – Original Review

Review by Steve Bennett

A studenty double act who've obviously watched too many Harry Hill videos, since their high-energy style is clearly derived from the big-collared one - from the jerky, exaggerated gestures to the snatches of song that punctuate the set.

But while Hill's manner is part of a glorious whole, these two seem to be using stage trickery to hide a lack of originality in their material, with the same frame of reference as every other two-bit comic - Jerry Springer, Bullseye and the like - and the same observations.

Occasionally they come up with a corker by taking an unexpected twist, for example their take on Batman villains, but mostly their observations are trite and predictable. It's only the strength of their performance that hides the paucity of the invention.
