Karen Cockfield – Original Review

Note: This review is from 2002

Review by Steve Bennett

Full of roguish charm, Cockfield's boisterously mouthy shtick makes a solid foundation for some entertainingly silly set pieces.

Owing more than a little to her acting talents, routines about Phil Mitchell or a Mexican bandit applying for a job, leave lasting, ridiculous pictures in the mind.

Some of the linking material is a little clumsier, as her strength seems to be for outlandish characters rather than straight stand-up, but this confident and charismatic performer is growing in stature with every gig. Well worth watching out for.
