Michael Tombs – Original Review

Note: This review is from 2002

Review by Steve Bennett

An intelligent observational comic, Tombs has a solid catalogue of amusing material.

His routines do tend to lack that killer punch that would elevate him into the next league, and he doesn't exude buckets of warmth from the stage.

But he has a neat way of thinking, and there is plenty to enjoy in his sarcastic set.

The show also stars  John Malkovich, Jane Lynch, Fred Willard, Tawny Newsome, Ben Schwartz and Lisa Kudrow - and is directed by Paul King, the Brit who called the shots on Paddington and, long before that, the Mighty Boosh.
