Scott Pragnell – Original Review

Review by Steve Bennett

Always interesting - if not always amusing - Pragnell joyfully plays with some of the conventions of stand-up.

Mind you, sometimes conventions are there for a good reason. One of Pragnall's tricks is to give away some punchlines at the top of the set to gags much later. Of course, you can hardly then complain if the audience sees a joke coming, although he did seem a little put out at the fact on the night we saw him.

Nonetheless, he is enjoyable to watch and some of his material is pretty decent. It is still a case of style over content, but if he can put some slighly sharper gags behind his enthusiastically experimental nature , he could be onto something good.
