Durham Revue: Virgin Incapable

Note: This review is from 2001

Review by Steve Bennett

This is a predictably unimpressive selection of sketches, lacking in punchlines and unconvincingly performed.

The cast also seem to have an unjustified level of confidence in their lacklustre material, which sees cross-dressing and a man in his pants as the apex of comedy.

There are a couple of neat ideas - a couple of slow-motion fight sequences are well done, though lacking in any real comic punch, and an audience poll about the correct pronunciation of the word 'labia' is a nice twist, though the premise again fails to go anywhere.

But, as seems inevitable with student revues, this lot are still a long way from being as funny as they think they are.
