Am I Talking To You?
Note: This review is from 2001
Despite the name and the show title, it's pretty unclear what this visually amusing character has to do with Robert de Niro, save for an Italian (but not New York Italian) accent which he maintains throughout.
But he is very confident, with lots of stage presence, and makes sharp observations on a myriad of topical subjects, though nothing groundbreaking.
One highlight was a routine about being born dead and living life in reverse until the night of conception. And the obligatory video clips were well thought-out, too.
And - in what is becoming a comedy standard - the song in the style of Eminem (or Enema as he put it) was in this case particularly funny and a sure crowd-pleaser.
