Comic buys an electric pink VW Golf

Jimmy Carr is known for his love of cars, having spent a fortune on a collection of high-end motors such as a Range Rover and a Bentley Continental GT.

But he’s just taken delivery of something a lot   less expensive – and unexpected – a Barbie-pink VW Golf.

High-end car dealer Will Kennedy posted a video of himself driving the eye-catching car from the forecourt of his company, Warford Cars, in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, to the comic’s North London home to make a 9am delivery.

The car was originally silver but resprayed metallic pink for Carr. Kennedy also added pink fluffy dice, pink headrests, pink diamante steering wheel cover – and when he sent his famous customer a photo of the finished work, the comic replied simply: ‘Wow!’

On camera, Kennedy says: ‘You'd think being like in the public eye, you'd want something under the radar, wouldn't you?

‘I’ve sold Ferraris, Bentleys, McLarens, Rolls Royces – never a pink Golf.’

However, the handover was not caught on camera as Carr wanted to maintain the privacy of where he lives.
