Andrew Maxwell's the jungle outsider

Long odds on comic taking the I'm A Celebrity crown

comedyAndrew Maxwell goes into the  I’m A Celebrity… camp as the rank outsider.

Bookies are offering odds of 16/1on the comic eventually being crowned king of the jungle – the longest of all

Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts is on the same odds – way behind favourite Ian Wright, the former footballer, who is 2/1 at William Hill

But the comic’s wit, and willingness to muck in with the more unpleasant tasks, might stand him in good stead.

Maxwell, 45, said he is more than happy to be the ‘person who cleans out the toilet and collects the logs’.

‘My littlest is two and so I am still in the world of wiping away poo anyway,’ he admits. ‘I have a long-standing reputation as someone who is willing to clean out the toilet in my mate’s caravan after a three day music festival too.’

The series starts on ITV on Sunday.
