QI drops clues to a Pandora's box

Can you solve P-series puzzle?

comedyEagle-eyed QI viewers have spotted an unusual – and frequently ‘misspelled’ – name popping up in the credits of the new series.

And the ‘easter eggs’ are just the start of a trail of clues which has fans baffled.

Each week of the P series has featured a ‘puzzle wrangler’ called Pandora, but her surname has been variously credited as  Pacelin, Pallift, Pelico and La Palet in the first four episodes.

Further investigation reveals a Twitter account in the name of @QIPandora, who complains about her name being misspelt.

‘Question - what is it called when the first letters of your tweets spell out an important word or phrase?’ she asked after last night’s episode aired.

The acrostic so derived from her last few messages read: ‘qi.com/pandora' – which may not be so hard to crack given that the web address is also in her profile.

But that’s when the trail gets even more difficult – as that link leads to a new puzzle, featuring some symbols and  a number of QI-logo magnifying glasses, each containing a number.

‘Draw each stripe… to reveal the story’ reads the clue, with the solution apparently another URL on the QI website.

A spokeswoman for the programme said that the various surnames Pandora has been given ‘are clues to a series-long puzzle that will run into 2019, with a mystery prize to be revealed for one lucky winner at the end.’
