Alison Spittle picks her comedy favourites

Edinburgh Fringe comedian Alison Spittle shares her Perfect Playlist.

David's dead

The greatest price of television of all time, scripted or unscripted hands down. Angie Bowie receives the massive news that her ex husband David Bowie is dead. As it's the Big Brother house I think Angie is under the impression she can't tell anyone in the house.

She tries to tell Tiffany 'New York' Pollard and what follows is a misunderstanding that no script writer could write.

I laugh at different parts each time and it just about sugars the pill of losing David Bowie and David Guest. Fly high, legends.

A Taste Of Home

Diet Of Worms are among my Irish comedy heroes. This is a fantastic sketch that is actually an advert for sausages. The way they incorporate the sausages in the series is hilarious.

It makes me laugh and also miss my mum back home in Ireland. Ah scooby dooby doo!

RuPaul's Drag Race

Here's a lovely clip of all the RuPaul's Drag Race snatch game winners.  My personal favourite is probably Kennedy Davenport's Little Richard. The delivery of 'glory holes' will never not tickle me.

A compilation of absolute joy. Have a watch here and bathe in competitive funniness

Maria Bamford

Maria Bamford is the greatest stand-up comedian of all time. No one comes close. This particular clip where she takes the Mick out of a certain type of comedy tickles me no end.

I do like a navelgaze, a little meta treat for people really into/sick to death of comedy.

I supported her this year and she couldn't have been more kind. It's great to meet your hero and then watch them do some of their best work. She's a special talent.

Coming To America

When I was a small child I would stay at my grans and my uncle John Paul had two VHS tapes. One was Coming To America and the other was Total Recall. When my nan was cleaning I would watch these two films like they were Postman Pat. I was absolutely enthralled by Coming To America. Lisa McDowell was my Disney princess. 75 per cent of the jokes went way over my head but I knew McDonald's owned their own intellectual property and Akeem did not know how to use a mop.

I would run around my school shouting, 'Hey waiter, taste the soup - aha' without understanding what the joke was about. I watch it once a year and it's like a warm bowl of soup with a spoon.

Blanche in Coronation Street

Soaps are hilarious, with all of that content being produced, some comic gems get made too.

Maggie Jones played Blanche in Coronation Street, my favourite soap character. She was biting and cutting, just a character that's almost a cypher for stand-up. Her dialogue was wonderful and I cried over her soap death

I've definitely stolen her glasses look since then.

Alison Spittle's stand-up show Wet is on at the Pleasance Courtyard Attic at 5.15pm.
