
Cheerful Earful podcast festival to return
Plus news of other new podcasts
Comedy podcast festival Cheerful Earful is to return to London from October 12 to 20.
Now in its third year, the festival will feature more than 30 live shows in venues including the Clapham Grand and The Bedford pub in Balham.
Headliners include Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown; Trusty Hogs with Helen Bauer and Catherine Bohart (pictured); and Paper Cuts with Miranda Sawyer and Alex Von Tunzelmann .
Other events include Lexx Education with Laura Lexx and her brother Ron Lexx; Family Jewels with Charlie Dinkin and Olga Koch and Ghastly Women iwht Esther Manito and Lily Phillips.
For the first time, the festival is opening applications to smaller and independent podcasts to perform on its Listen Up stage. All shows featured here will receive additional financial support for performing at the festival.

Meanwhile, American comic Leah Lamarr has teamed up with British stand-up Bella Hull to make a new podcast about toxicity called Rats of The Roundtable.
Starting this Thursday each episode will discuss t gossip, their own failures and what rat-like behaviour has caught their attention that week.
Hull said: 'This podcast was built on a mutual love for gossip, confessions, and the kind of rabid honesty that makes you think "Wow. I cant believe she just said that"'.
Lamarr added" "It all started with an admiration for cultural differences between England and America, as well as a love for all things absolutely idiotic, psychotic and hilarious. Come have a deranged little laugh with us."
