Guest hosts to replace Trevor Noah on the Daily Show

Comedy Central opts for a roster of comics for next season

The Daily Show will continue with a series of guests host once Trevor Noah leaves, broadcaster Comedy Central has announced.

Those taking the chair will include Al Franken, Chelsea Handler, D. L. Hughley, Leslie Jones, John Leguizamo, Hasan Minhaj, Kal Penn, Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes and Marlon Wayans.

Most are expected to present the show for a week each, although that has not been confirmed,

Chris McCarthy, president of parent company Paramount Media Networks said: ‘As we enter Trevor's final week, we want to thank him for his many contributions. Trevor redefined the show, as did Jon Stewart before him, and as we look to the future, we are excited to reimagine it yet again with the help of this incredible list of talent and correspondents along with the immensely talented Daily Show team.’

Noah’s last show is tomorrow night, with the show resuming on January 17.

It has been reported that Comedy Central is expected to eventually settle on a single host or hosts, possibly for the autumn 2023 season.

The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11pm on Comedy Central in the US and at 3.20am on Comedy Central in the UK.
