Paul Zerdin to tape a new live show

Comic's theatre fundraiser will be recorded

Former America’s Got Talent winner Paul Zerdin is to tape a live show for release as a special.

The comedy ventriloquist will perform a one-off benefit gig at Yeovil’s Octagon Theatre as part of the venue’s Name A Seat fundraising scheme next month, which will be recorded for future release.

Mixing old material with preview routines for his forthcoming Edinburgh Fringe run, An Audience With Paul Zerdin will feature his regular puppet sidekicks Sam, Baby and Albert, plus newcomers Roger, the bodyguard who claims to be ex-CIA, and a troublesome Urban Fox.

Adam Burgan, arts and entertainments manager at the Octagon said: ‘Paul has always been a brilliant friend and supporter of The Octagon Theatre and his shows are hugely popular with our audiences.

‘Paul was the first live performance to reopen our venues during the pandemic and as the patron of our Name A Seat campaign he’s always been there to support our theatre.

‘This event will be a superb evening of entertainment from a true master of comedy all to support the development of our theatre.’

The gig takes place on June 15 and tickets are on a ‘pay what you can’ basis, from £5 to £25.
