Mike Cox is the Not So New Comedian Of The Year

Policeman-turned-comedian Mike Cox has won the Museum of Comedy’s ‘Not So New Comedian Of The Year’ title for 2022.

Previously known as the ‘Old Comedian Of The Year’, the London-based competition is open to anyone over 35 and who has been performing for at least five years.

Cox has been performing stand-up  since 2011 and was previously crowned South Coast Comedian of the Year in 2014, and made the final of the Amused Moose Laugh Off in 2016.

A comic known only as ‘Mags’ came second and Rick Kiesewetter, who has been on the circuit for two decades, came third.

The other finalists were Ali Brice, Angus Dunican, Cathal O’Riordan, Emily McQuade, Ian Lane, Jan Jack, Kelly Ford, Mad Ron and  Peter Bazely
