Filming wraps on This Time With Alan Partridge series two

BBC releases the first promo image

Filming has wrapped on the second series of This Time With Alan Partridge.

Writer and director Neil Gibbons broke the news on Instagram as the BBC released the first image from the show.

Posting an image of the clapperboard from the last scene - intriguingly titled ‘Robot’ - Gibbons wrote simply: ‘Yes!!’ The board, dated Friday, also contained the phrase: ‘That’s a wrap.’

The spoof magazine show was initially planned to launch in the spring, but the filming schedule was put back because of Covid.

The BBC said season two would find Alan (Steve Coogan) ‘now established as the show’s co-presenter’ - despite finding himself in hot water at the end of series one over his treatment of co-host Jennie Gresham (Susannah Fielding).

The Corporation added the new episodes will ‘follow Alan on air and off as he tries to cling on to his position, in the face of behind-the-scenes upheaval and [his] fears that his relevance is dwindling’.
