C4 show named best comedy in industry awards

Derry Girls has been named best comedy in this year’s Televisual Bulldog Awards.

Lisa McGee’s Channel 4 sitcom beat  Inside No. 9 into second place and This Country into third.

BBC One’s long-running panel show Would I Lie to You? was voted best panel, quiz or chat show ahead of Taskmaster and The Chase.

The winners were chosen by an online vote of visitors to the Televisual broadcast industry website.
