Gilded Balloon's talent hunt offers £2,500 prize

Applications have opened for this year's So You Think You’re Funny?  talent hunt.

The competition, run by Edinburgh's Gilded Balloon is open to anyone who’s over 18 and in their first year of stand-up comedy.

Previous finalists have included Peter Kay, Aisling Bea, Sarah Millican, Dylan Moran and Jack Whitehall as winners and finalists in previous years.

Those who make it through the regional showcases will be invited to perform in the semifinals which will take place in Gilded Balloon Teviot throughout August. 

The top prize is £2,500 cash, plus trips to perform at Montreal’s Just for Laughs festival and the Magners International Comedy Festival in Singapore.

This year's competition is being sponsored by Coors Light.
