David Walliams's new Fing

Comic reveals his latest book

David Walliams next book will be aimed at a younger audience than his usual novels, publisher HarperCollins says.

The new title will be called Fing, about librarians Mr and Mrs Meek and their spoiled daughter, Myrtle, who decides that she wants a  ‘Fing’… which turns out to be a monster.

Released on February 21, the title is aimed at children of seven and over and will be illustrated by Walliams’ long-time collaborator Tony Ross.

FingThe former Little Britain star said: ‘I wanted to write a story just to make children laugh, and nothing else. I think this is my funniest book, and I hope it will appeal to young readers and reluctant readers everywhere.’

Walliams sold £17.1million worth of books last year, according to Nielsen BookScan.
