Show generates 1.9billion social media impressions

comedyThe launch of the UK version of Saturday Night Live generated more than 30,000 social posts – amassing a collective 1.9 billion impressions.

And the response was split precisely 50:50 between positive and negative reactions. 

That’s according to data insights company Sprout Social, which analysed relevant search terms across X, Reddit, Facebook, YouTube and Tumblr from Saturday until today.

Host Tina Fey dominated conversations, appearing in 3,554 mentions with Nicola Coughlan, who made a surprise appearance in the opening monologue, generating 3,384 mentions.

The programme debuted to 226,000 viewers for its live broadcast – a strong showing for a Sky One show, and beating Channel 4 in the 10pm slot.
