THE BBC NEW COMEDY AWARD: Eoghan Collins, Pravanya Pillay, Vinny Shiu, Lianna Holston and Luke Nixon (as Jim Midge) compete in the final heat in Belfast, hosted by Dane Buckley. BBC Three, 9.05pm That's followed pretty swiftly by the final from Bradford, hosted by Amy Gledhill and judged by Fatiha El-Ghorri, Harriet Kemsley and Dreaming Whilst Black's Adjani Salmon. BBC One, 9.40pm

MYQ KAPLAN: RIMI: The US comic, and occasional visitor to the Edinburgh Fringe, releases a new special on YouTube dedicated to his partner of nearly a decade, covering quantum physics, God, polyamory, and more.

Thursday November 20

A MAN ON THE INSIDE: Ted Danson returns in the charming comedy from The Good Place's Mike Schur as a former academic helping out a private investigator to give his life purpose after retirement and the death of his wife. In series two he goes undercover in a college, while Danson's wife Mary Steenburgen joins the cast. It drops on Netflix today, joining the retirement-home set first season.

Friday November 21

HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU: Gabby Logan is hosting for the first time, with guest panellists Nish Kumar and journalist Cathy Newman joining team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop. BBC One, 9pm

DADDY ISSUES: Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey return for the sitcom about a divorced dad and his daughter, now trying to bring up a baby. The acclaimed series also stars David Fynn, Sarah Hadland, Sharon Rooney and Taj Atwal – as well as Jill Halfpenny as Davina, the mum of Wood's character Gemma. BBC One, 9.35pm
