First look at Dreaming Whilst Black series 2
Adjani Salmon's satirical comedy returns
The BBC has released the look images from season 2 of the critically acclaimed comedy Dreaming Whilst Black.
Creator Adjani Salmon plays Kwabena, who is now at the start of his professional career in the entertainment industry in a new era of diversity, equity and inclusion, where empowering marginalised voices are seemingly at the top of everyone's agenda.
However, while the business might look progressive from the outside, it doesn't feel that way to Kwabena. Desperate to work on a project that aligns with his values, he secures a directing job for the major TV series Sin and Subterfuge – a genre-busting period drama, apparently inspired by Bridgerton.
But over the course of the series, the show’s progressive agenda morphs into an increasingly problematic production, and he begins to wonder, has he been set up to fail from the start?
Returning cast members include Dani Moseley as Amy, Demmy Ladipo as Maurice, Rachel Adedeji as Funmi and Babirye Bukilwa as Vanessa.
Six new half-hour episodes are being made by A24 and Big Deal Films for BBC Three and iPlayer, after the first season received two Bafta nominations. Broadcast dates have not been confirmed.
The show is adapted from a web series co-written by Salmon and Ali Hughes.
