Jimmy Carr's I Literally Just Told You gets a third series

Channel 4 renews gameshow

Channel 4 has ordered a third series of Jimmy Carr gameshow I Literally Just Told You.

The show, which was created by Richard Bacon, has seen audiences grow with each series. The celebrity spin-off that aired at Christmas attracted 1.2million viewers and tripled the Share of 16-34 year old viewers compared with the slot average.

Steven Handley who commissioned the series for Channel 4 said: ‘I Literally Just Told You is one of the most creative quizzes on TV, so we are delighted Jimmy will return to throw more mind-bending memory questions at the audience for the show’s biggest run so far.’

Creator Richard Bacon said: 'I’m really excited it’s back and for even more episodes than ever before. We’re going to make it louder and weirder. How do I know that? I Literally Just etc etc.

The primetime programme is produced by Expectation, whose creative director Ben Wicks said that in the show, Carr, ‘the most forensic mind in comedy - demonstrates that peoples' memories have been utterly shot to pieces’.

In each episode of I Literally Just Told You, four contestants have the opportunity to compete for up to £25,000 by answering questions that have been written live as the show is being filmed. The questions can be about anything that happens during the show, from a celebrity cameo to an off-the-cuff joke or even something one of the contestants has shared about themselves.
